Ok, when this pandemic started I was pretty nervous about what wedding season would look like. As someone that makes a majority of their income in ~4 months of the year from weddings, it was scary not knowing what would happen! After getting back into the swing of things, I am LOVING what’s happening. A lot of my couples quit stressing about all the fancy details and party vendors and instead started focusing on their love. Of course, many are postponing their receptions until after this all blows over (becuase, hello?! Who doesn’t want a big party?). But the decision to proceed with their wedding vows with only family present is such an intimate and special thing to witness. Carly and Kevin were nothing less of that.
For starters, this wedding took place very close to my hometown of Hooper, NE so I was immediately excited about that. Outdoor, close to home, sunset over the horizon, where’s the wrong?! Carly and Kevin got married on Carly’s late Grandparents family farm on the SAME DAY as their 51st wedding anniversary, which made this day even more special.
This wedding had it all. An amazing couple. Loving parents. Gorgeous Scenery. And a cooler full of ice cold beer. Oh, and there was a puppy present! I’ve shifted my perspective on these wedding ceremonies as my couples have really gotten the opportunity to focus on their relationship, and not so much on all the hoopla (spelling?). I’m there to capture special moments and memories, and I feel I am able to do just that with events like this.
Take a look at some photos from the absolute perfect evening. Congrats, Carly & Kevin!
